Konfetti
The first foal out of our top scoring Kostolany daughter
Kontrapunkt, Konfetti was the only purebred 1998 offspring by
Peron, the bay
Mahagoni son who won a team bronze medal for the USA at the 1996 Olympics at
Atlanta. At the time ridden by Michelle Gibson, Peron was the best horse on the
American dressage team and just barely missed an individual medal, finishing
fifth.
Peron
This incredible horse took two more riders to the top. After
Ann-Kathrin Ehlen had become a shooting star in Germany, Peron and his new
rider Francesca Camessa had qualified for the European Championships with the Swiss team. On the way
there, a minor bruise required a preventive antibiotic injection, Peron suffered
an anaphylactic reaction and died, leaving only one full foal crop in Germany,
to be born in 2000, and only 5 purebred daughters in North America, among them
only one out of a Kostolany daughter, Konfetti.
A carbon copy of her famous sire, Konfetti received high marks
at her foal inspection and was started under saddle in 2001/2002.
In 2008, she had her first foal, the bay colt Checkmate by Contucci.
Konfetti was accepted into the Main Stud Book of the American Hanoverian
Association and her son Checkmate was registered and branded Hanoverian during
his inspection, impression judges and spectators alike with his powerful, uphill
movement. Congratlations to breeders Lisa and Chris Tompkins from Arlington, WA.
