Kontrapunkt
The first foal of our foundation
mare Karline, she was born in 1994 and came to the USA
as a yearling, together with her dam and her full sister Koeur
d'Alene. As a
suckling she placed at the German National Foal Championship of all Sport Horse
Breeds, and as a 3 year old she was the highest scoring Trakehner mare in North
America at her mare inspection.
Until today she and her
full sister still are the only Kostolany daughters in the OSB.
Kostolany,
the black Enrico Caruso son bred and owned by Otto Langels,
Haemelschenburg, is
one of Europe's most frequented and most successful breeding stallions in the
last ten years. Champion at Neumuenster himself, he already sired numerous
approved sons, among them Champion Gribaldi, Reserve Champion Trocadero and
Premium Stallions Silvermoon and Tolstoi (already sire of two Neumuenster
Champions himself, the full brothers Farinelli and Freudenfest). Besides his
approved sons, Kostolany also sired many high class mares, among them National
Champion Carrera and stallion dam Kandra. Equally impressive is the temperament
of this stallion, well known for his appearance at Neumuenster's Evening Show in
the "Phantom of the Opera".
Kontrapunkt's
first foal, the outstanding bay filly Konfetti,
was the only purebred 1998 foal worldwide by Olympic dressage medal winner
Peron. After a highly successful international career under three
different riders, Peron was retired as a breeding stallion, sold to Germany
before - back on center stage again - qualifying for the European Championships
in 1999. Unfortunately, he died on the way to the show grounds due to an
anaphylactic reaction at an antibiotic injection. This leaves Konfetti as one of
only a handful of purebred daughters worldwide, and probably the only one out of
a daughter of Kostolany.
June 19th, 2000, Kontrapunkt
foaled a flashy gray colt, Kunterbunt, by the young gray Thoroughbred stallion
Snowbound xx. Moving with elegance and power, always uphill and with a lot of
reach, Kunterbunt seems to be born for the dressage arena.
Kunterbunt
Kiridashi
Karuso
In 2001, Kontrapunkt foaled the outstanding
black colt Kiridashi by Enrico Caruso's son Larazzi, and in 2002 his flashy and
very typey full brother Karuso.
Kiridashi (Kody)
and Lorna in February of 2005
Kiridashi, barn name Kody, has grown into a beautiful young
horse. He went to his first show in the spring of 2005 and cam home with scores
of 67.75% and 71.67%. Congratulations to Kody and his rider and owner Lorna
Moth.
On January 20, 2004 we lost this wonderful mare and her unborn
Latimer foal.
We will miss her!
At the ATA's annual meeting in Florida, 11/3/02, Kontrapunkt's
3/4 brother Kovington was approved as a breeding
stallion.
