On September 25, 2004 another Thorougbred mare joined our broodmare band. The 16.2h chestnut mare Starboard was a stakes winner at the track with 6 wins, 11 second place and 7 third place finishes. A daughter of leading sire and leading broodmare sire Knights Choice with excellent conformation and a great temperament, she comes from a family loaded with blacktype including stakes horses like Military Hawk, On Her Roll, Rollette, Pay Roll, S. S. Hawkeye and My Emy My Amy, just to name a few. This family was prominently featured in an article in the November 2006 issue of the Washington Thoroughbred. On 2/19/2005, Starboard foaled a bay colt by the Irish-bred gray Danehill son Klinsman, named Soccer Star in honor of German star soccer player Jürgen Klinsmann. Soccer Star took up training in CA early in 2007 and has been posting a number of excellent workouts at Bay Meadows already, even blacklettering a few times.
In the late evening hours of 3/30/2006, Starboard foaled a tall, correct and big boned black colt by Washington's leading sire Slewdledo named Portside Slew.
On April 1st, 2007, Starboard produced her first filly for us, a charming chestnut daughter of Storm Cat's speedy son Storm Blast, a maternal half brother to the great race mare Paseana.
We couldn't be happier with Supernova Star, a carbon copy of her athletic and well muscled sire.
